How to Pack Light for a Weekend Getaway
Packing for a quick trip doesn’t need to be stressful. Over time, I’ve mastered the art of packing light while still having everything I need. Here’s my go-to formula:
✨ 1. Choose a Capsule Wardrobe
Stick to neutral basics that mix and match. For example: 2 tops, 2 bottoms, 1 dress, and 1 layering piece can create 6+ outfits.
✨ 2. Roll, Don’t Fold
Rolling clothes saves space and keeps wrinkles away. I also tuck socks and underwear inside shoes.
✨ 3. Travel-Size Toiletries Only
Invest in refillable travel bottles so you’re always TSA-ready. Bonus: It saves money and space.
✨ 4. One Pair of Versatile Shoes
Bring shoes you can dress up or down. For me, that’s usually white sneakers or comfy sandals.
✨ 5. Keep Essentials in a Personal Item
Passport, chargers, headphones, and snacks should always be within reach in a small backpack or tote.
π Packing light means more freedom and less stress — plus extra room for souvenirs!
